It is an episode of the childhood of Lord Krishna. The giant cobra, which spouted lethal venom around a giant lake, was a source of constant fright and fatal danger for people living around it's village. The child Krishna in his play with his mates with a ball, entered the lake and challenged the Cobra. Child Krishna unwantedly accepted the challenge, subdued the snake and saved the people. The people adored his fearlessness and valour and thanked him for deliverance from the coloured.
